Very much agree. It is truly incredible how everyone and everything is now "regenerative"... if only it were true! Or as IFOAM Organics Europe says in its position paper: "It is important to look at what is behind an initiative, or a project described as “regenerative”: it can be highly sustainable and truly environmentally friendly or simply a form of greenwashing. (...) Th[e] lack of definition of regenerative agriculture is attractive to companies that seek to rebrand themselves as “regenerative” without changing many practices. This is unfair to serious actors in the organic and regenerative movements and lowers the bar on regenerative agriculture, which originally was, like organic, about a transformation of the whole food system rather than “picking and choosing” one measure that has some environmental benefit, while still carrying out other environmentally damaging practices.More information here: https://lnkd.in/esNXBd9T

On Monday, we attended a conference hosted by ITAB - Institut Technique de l'Agriculture et de l'Alimentation Biologiques and the Ministère Écologie Territoires, unveiling the latest scientific insights into the externalities of organic farming for biodiversity, climate, soil health, and human health. The event was packed with passionate presentations and expert discussions. Here are a few key takeaways:SOIL✅ Organic soil matter can help mitigate climate change and feed the soil's biodiversity. Organic practices bring +35% of organic carbon and facilitate water infiltration.BIODIVERSITY✅ +32% of number of individuals and +23% of species on organic land, with better regulation of pestsCLIMATE✅ -50% GHG emissions on organic crop farms and higher carbon stock on organic landHEALTH✅ Lower risk of obesity up to -50%✅ Higher nutritional value for organic produce with, for example, a higher rate of antioxidants between +19 and + 86%✅ Links between numerous pathologies and the use of synthetic pesticides for farmers can be limited with organic practicesWant to dive deeper into the details? Delighted to share the earlier announcement of a 5-year partnership between General Mills and Ingredia Dairy Experts, which contributes to reducing the carbon footprint in the dairy industry, inter alia for Häagen-Dazs. 🍦 🐮 What does it mean specifically? In this alliance, 50 dairy farms in the Northern France, will benefit from individualized technical support with their farming practices. The aim is to reduce the CO2 emissions by up to 30% over the duration of the program. Find more information in the below announcement post.Btw, did you know that each scoop of Häagen-Dazs starts life as only four ingredients you can find in your kitchen - cream, milk, sugar and eggs? Extraordinary is not just what we put in, it’s what we leave out. #Iwork4GeneralMills #proudofmycompany #GstandsforGood #sustainability #farming #agriculture #regenerativeagriculture #carbonfootprint

🙌 Proud and honoured to partner on this ambitious project!🐄 We are aiming to reduce the carbon footprint of milk of those amazing Haagen-Dazs ice creams produced in the North of France.👨🌾 Hand-in-hand with the teams of Ingredia Dairy Experts, we are helping their farmers to implement low-carbon practises, track progress and report #scope3 emission reductions of General Mills.🌱 Beyond milk, other commodities produced by the same farmers also follow a sustainable path: wheat and beetroot among others, thanks to an extended partnership with Tereos and Unéal. ➡ The result: an innovative transition model for farmers that cover the cost of regenerative practises😎 Stay tuned! Thanks for your trust Louise B. NOW WE TALK results:✅ +11% average yield (rice, corn, millet, peas)💰 +49% net profit for farmers📉 -44% operating costs by eliminating the need to purchase inputs (especially fertilizers and pesticides)🌾 X2 in crop diversity💊 -33% loss of days worked due to illnessesAnd... in Europe... WE JUST LOST 10 YEARS, due to... lazyness, incompetence, lobbies, and we will go on losing money, lives, and destroy our environment (soil, water, air) like we did in the last 70 years. We will have well deserved the tough punishment upcoming.

[🚜 15 years of #Agrivoltaics]🌿 The first agrivoltaic power plant saw the light of day in 2009 on Reunion Island. At the time, Akuo imagined coupling #agricultural production and #solar power on the same plot of land, creating positive synergies for both. Since then, the model has been emulated by many!📈 Other agrivoltaic power plants (more than 20!) have been built on Reunion Island, in New Caledonia and in mainland France.Akuo has joined forces with MAIF to create MAIF Transition, a financing solution to support agricultural and renewable energy projects throughout France. Our credibility and experience, forged over the years, have enabled us to develop technologies to meet the needs of different crops and farmers.🌞 The Abbaye de Gaussan project is the synthesis of the vision we share with Agriterra Group. It bears witness to our ongoing commitment to reasoned, sustainable lifestyles and consumption patterns for tomorrow. For more information on the Agriterra Group: https://lnkd.in/eNXrd_PF#Agriterra #RenewableEnergy #ENR
