Gameplay Help and Discussion - Theoretical highest possible +Movement Speed? - Forum - Path of Exile (2024)

Before I say anything:
-Yes, I am aware that Movement Speed is nowhere near as important as the various defensive passives.
-No, I don't plan on making a HC Movement Speed character (God, who would?).
-...Yes, I do have an SC Movement Speed Ranger that I play solo on occasion.
-Yes, I knew what I was getting into.

I am curious about Movement Speed. I have... a thing, for moving fast in ARPGs. I am aware that there is no movement cap, so just how high can you stack it? By my calculations, Passives, Flasks, Gear and possibly Skills all play a part -- but I don't know exactly how high you can get the latter portions. Any knowledge?

What I have thus far:
+43% from Passive Skills (more reasonably, +41% as Ranger w/o Armor Mastery & Armor Master).
+80%(?) from a Quicksilver flask with the right affixes.
+30%(?) from perfect roll on boots.
+possibly a skill I don't know about?
Total: >= +153% to Movement Speed

Considering the Quicksilver accounts for over 52% of the total +speed from this sort of thing, I'd like to reiterate how plainly obvious it should be that a Movement Speed build is sub-optimal... but I digress.

Are there any other variables that I neglected to take into account? Possibly other gear (jewelry?) that can add +Movement Speed, or a skill that adds +Movement Speed (or simply moves you very quickly on activation, e.g. Portal, Flicker Strike)...?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There are a handful of uniques that increase movement speed;
If memory serves,
'The Peregine' helmet gives 10%
'Karui Ward' Jade amulet gives 10%
'Foxshade' low lvl evasion armor gives 10%
and two of the unique 2h swords give your last 10%

Plus there are unique boots that actually give 35% on full life.

I think that puts your cap here:
43% passive
70%* from a quicksilver (40 implicit + 30 mod)
35% from boots
40% from other uniques
7% from haste
195%.

Though, if you just wanna move fast, stacking attack speed and using leep slam is pretty fun.

Just to confirm:
+43% from Passives (w/ Armor Mastery, Armor Master, Inner Force -- MINIMUM 59 pts. as Shadow(!), MORE if not)
+70% from Mod Quicksilver
+29% from Phase Run
+7% from Haste aura
+35% from ideal boots
+40% from ideal non-boots Uniques
= 224% Movement Speed before(?) *30% from Inner Force

Oh, and:
-Someone would do it in Hardcore.

Quite a list. If I were to really go for this unreasonable min/maxed Move Speed build, I'd have to reroll as an EK Shadow and go hunting for Uniques. Chances are I won't -- regardless, this sort of information is fascinating to me.

Is that so? They stack with Quicksilvers? If you're right... taking that into account, you would also need the following to take this build to its literal extreme:

1) A (low-level?) Health Flask with +Move Speed
1b) A (low-level?) skill that inflicts exactly enough DoT on self to break even (Blood Rage, Righteous Fire?)
2) A Mana Flask with +Move Speed
2b) A specific combination of skills that--
i.) Allows you to keep said Mana Flask active at ~all times.
ii.) Still offers you enough mana to use your main attack semi-competently.

This seems like it would be the hardest part of the build to work out, now that you have to actively maximize the up-time of three to five (Hybrid?) different flask types to stay at Ludicrous Speed. It's not just building it and finding the gear to keep Phase Run up any more.

How high do HP/MP Flask run speed boosts go? +30% each, or more?
