I’m a total sucker for cute popsicles, and these Red White and Blue Popsicles are my absolute favorite. I love that they’re fun, festive, EASY, and also pretty healthy. The best of all worlds coming together just in time for the 4th of July! Yay!

Healthy Homemade Popsicles Recipe

I made these healthy homemade popsicles using fresh and simple ingredients, and that’s why they taste so good! There’s nothing quite as refreshing as fresh fruit on a summer day.

Here’s all the ingredients you need to make these Red White and Blue Popsicles:

  • Greek Yogurt
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Fresh Blueberries
  • 1 Banana
  • Sugar

You’ll also need some popsicle sticks and popsicle molds to make these smoothie pops, and if you want to create brighter colors, you can add in some food coloring too (but it’s not necessary).

How to Make Homemade Popsicles

If you’re just learning how to make homemade popsicles, here are a few tips to keep in mind while making these Red White and Blue Popsicles:

  • Make sure you have all your ingredients at hand, as well as a popsicle mold
  • You will need to freeze each layer (color) for about 2 hours before moving on to the next one
  • So, you’ll want to add in your first layer to each popsicle mold, freeze, then come back and add each 2nd layer, and so on

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped strawberries 167 grams
  • tablespoons granulated sugar 18 grams, divided
  • ¾ cup water 170 grams, divided
  • 3 cups plain greek yogurt 681 grams, divided
  • Red and blue food coloring optional
  • 1 cup blueberries 170 grams
  • 1 banana chopped

Recommended Equipment

Instructions

  • Blend the strawberries with ½ tablespoon sugar and ¼ cup water. Pulse until well combined. Add 1 cup Greek yogurt and blend until fully smooth. Add 3 drops red food coloring if you would like the color to be a bit more vibrant; totally optional. Set aside. Keep refrigerated until use.

    1 cup chopped strawberries, 1½ tablespoons granulated sugar, ¾ cup water, Red and blue food coloring, 3 cups plain greek yogurt

  • Repeat steps with each type of fruit, using blue food coloring with the blueberries if you want the color to be a bit more blue, again, optional.

    1 cup blueberries, 1 banana

  • Start by adding a layer of blueberry mixture to the bottom of each popsicle mold. Add popsicle sticks (if your mold doesn't come with them) and allow layer to freeze for about 2 hours. Follow with layer of either banana or strawberry, alternating if you wish. Allow this layer to freeze as well before adding your final layer.

  • Allow pops to freeze fully before serving.

  • For a bit more sweetness, use vanilla Greek yogurt.
  • You can change up the fruit flavors by using raspberries in place of the strawberries and blackberries in place of the blueberries.
