Infinity pools are inherently luxurious.
The cost of building an infinity swimming or reflecting pool is far more expensive than other styles of pools that you may find in backyards.
This is because an infinity pool produces a visual illusion of the water extending into the horizon.
Infinity pools are also known as “zero edge”, “disappearing edge”, or “negative edge” pools because of this feature.
However, this visual effect requires a lot of structural, mechanical, and architectural detail to be paid to its design.
Many of the infinity pools in this collection are located at luxury resorts around the world, but a few are located at residential homes.

The sunset casts a shadow over this stone patio that is partially covered. The lengthy infinity pool stretches out towards the water. From this angle, we can still see the tops of the trees, but from the lounge chairs, it would look like the pool was never-ending.
This gorgeous example is simply a work of art. The pool has two separate swimming areas. The edge of the top pool is flush with the wall leading down to the second, which allows the water to cascade over the edge and into the pool below.
This infinity pool surrounds the limestone patio on three sides. the pool complex overlooks the water through the palm trees. On the corner, on the very edge of the pool is a decorative urn.
The pool lighting adds a green cast to the reflected sunset of this swimming pool. The curved line of the pool is barely noticeable and blends into the ocean beyond.

This resort is built on and into the rocky coast of this island. The infinity pool is shallow enough to have lounge chairs resting in the water. From this angle, we can see the concrete lip that follows the edge of the pool and protects it from the shifting sands of the shore.
The limestone patio leads directly into the pool, which gets deeper once past the two posts lit by antique lanterns. Just beyond the edge of the pool is the beach, close enough to hear the waves roll in.
On the right side, bubbling “rapids” provide visual interest to the shallowest part of the pool. The deepest part of the pool runs past the covered seating area on the patio.
This Tuscan-style patio has a deep blue infinity pool on the edge of the hill, providing a lovely view of the quaint countryside and the water beyond.
This large patio and pool complex has a complicated layout. Part of the patio is in limestone tile, and has lighted steps. The lower part of the patio has plenty of seating beneath an extended cover, and is built to resemble a dock. The middle wooden platform looks like it’s floating, but is actually built around already existing palm trees. The infinity pool loops around all of these obstacles for a very natural look.
This example has one end that extends directly towards the water, while most of the pool overlooks a lower patio area. The rocky coast below has beautiful rock formations.
This corner infinity pool extends from the balcony to overlook the resort complex. We can also see various other infinity pools positioned on the edge of the other buildings.
This luxurious pool complex has a large infinity lap pool, plus a smaller partially covered pool eating area. The resort is high enough that the pool appears to continue into the sky.
